Matchweek 2 of the Pro League U23 concluded with 22 goals across seven matches, averaging 3.1 goals per game, as the competition delivered another round of exciting and closely contested action.
Goals were scored in six of the seven matches, with the goalless draw between Al Jazira and Sharjah the only fixture in which neither side found the net.
Al Ain and United were the highest-scoring teams of the matchweek, with four goals each. Al Ain produced an impressive 4-0 win over Khorfakkan, while United defeated Bani Yas 4-2 in a six-goal encounter.
Away teams enjoyed the better results, recording three victories, while home sides claimed two wins.
Late goals added further drama to the matchweek, with three matches featuring goals after the 90th minute.
Mohammed Abdulsalam scored Al Wahda’s third goal in their 3-1 victory over Al Nasr in the 98th minute.
The closing stages of the Hatta-Ajman clash produced even more drama. Hamad Al Blooshi equalised for Hatta in the 92nd minute, but Zayed Sultan struck in the 95th minute to hand Ajman a dramatic 2-1 victory.
