The UAE Pro League has announced that the 2021-2022 football season, including the Arabian Gulf League, Arabian Gulf Cup, Arabian Gulf Super Cup, and Arabian Gulf League U21 competitions, will get underway on August 19.
The announcement follows coordination with concerned authorities and a series of coordination meetings between the UAEPL's competitions and operations department and representatives of the national teams department and competitions department at the UAE Football Association. It takes the national team's request into account, considering the UAE's participation in the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup joint qualifiers.
In addition, a series of coordination meetings will be held with professional clubs and broadcast right holders in the upcoming period to approve the proposed calendar for all competitions in the new season and set the schedule while following best technical, marketing, and organizational practices.
