Newcomer Djaniny Shines in Sharjah's 4-0 Win over Ajman in ADNOC Pro League

Newcomer Jorge Djaniny didn't waste any time making his presence felt with Sharjah, as he scored his first goal in the team's 4-0 emphatic home win over Ajman in the matchweek 16 of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.


It took 28th minutes for the hosts to find the breakthrough and take the lead, when Djaniny opened the scoring for Sharjah when he orchestrated a fine one-two with Francisco Alcacer to open up a space, finally allowing the Cape Verdean forward to drill the ball into the back of the net.


Just seven minutes before the break, Sharjah were awarded a penalty kick due to a handball on Ajman's defender Abdulla Saleh. Miralem Pjanic stepped up and stroked the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.


The momentum was with Sharjah, and it was no surprise when they extended their lead when Djaniny picked up the ball on the right flank and skipped past Ajman's two defenders, before sending superb a low cross to Francisco Alcacer who found it easy to drill the ball into the empty net.


Just two minutes before the time, Salem Saleh Musallam added the fourth goal and sealed the victory for Sharjah when he was put through on goal as he kept his composure and chipped it over the goalkeeper.


The victory means that Sharjah are now temporarily topping the table with 34 points, while Ajman sit seventh with 26 points.
