UAE Pro League board member Jawaher Al Suwaidi the UAE Pro League's active participation in Emirati Women's Day's celebration, titled 'We Collaborate for Tomorrow' came in line with the announcement of the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the year 2023 as the "Year of Sustainability."
The announcement of the "Year of Sustainability" came under the slogan of 'Today for Tomorrow,' which embodies the UAE's approach and commitment to sustainability and its responsibility to protect the future.
The celebrations took place during matchweek two of the ADNOC Pro League and witnessed the honoring of women representing Abu Dhabi National Oil Company "ADNOC" during the Abu Dhabi derby came as an appreciation to the Emirati women's efforts that made outstanding contributions to the national development process.
"The Emirati women succeeded in translating the directives of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who strongly believed that Women are major partners in society and must know their rights and their national role in the march of the State of the Union," Al Suwaidi added.
She also praised the pioneering role of "Mother of the UAE" Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, in supporting women for decades and motivating them to creativity, excellence and active participation in national development.
