UAE Pro League hands out awards to eUAE PL Championship winners

The UAE Pro League handed out the prize money and awards to the winners of the eUAE PL Championship 2021, the UAE’s first-ever official qualifying event within the EA SPORTSTM FIFA 21 Global Series “Road to the FIFAe World Cup”.

The tournament, which was held on April 24 and 25, had a total prize pool of AED 27,000. Khaled Alyafei clinched first place to earn the AED 15,000 top prize. He was followed by Rashed Alzaabi who picked up AED 7,000 after finishing in second place, while Salem Alhammadi sealed a third-place finish to earn AED 5,000. In addition to the prize money, the first place was handed a trophy while the second and third-place finishers got coins.

The winners received their cheques and prizes at the UAE Pro League office in Abu Dhabi.

Having claimed the eUAE PL Championship title, Alyafei will now have a chance to represent the UAE Pro League in the West Asia playoffs in June 2021 for an opportunity to qualify for the FIFAe World Cup 2021.

He qualified for the eUAE PL Championship after finishing off first in the eUAEPL online qualifiers, which was held from April 13 to 21. He dominated his way to the title with a formidable record that saw him go 16 games unbeaten, having won 14 matches, drawn two, and lost only once.

The eUAEPL Championship 2021 marked the first official qualifying event held in the UAE by the UAE Pro League, with more official and community tournaments set to take place next season.
