Al-Kaabi Commends Rising Fan and Club Engagement in UAE Pro League eSports

Ahmed Al Swaidi from Al Nasr club emerged as the champion of the fourth edition of the e-UAEPL championship, organized by the UAE Pro League in collaboration with EA SPORTS FC™️ as part of the EA SPORTS FC Pro esports program.

Al-Swaidi clinched the title after edging out last season’s champion, Mohannad Al Masmari of Shabab Al Ahli, with a close score of 7-6, while Ali Al Hammadi of Khorfakkan secured third place.

Saeed Obaid Al Kaabi, a member of the UAE Pro League's board, remarked on the significant growth in the tournament's profile, citing increased engagement from clubs and fans. "This year's edition has demonstrated a notable increase in the clubs’ and fans’ engagement with the players and the competition, aligning with our objectives to highlight the importance and investment potential of eSports," said Al-Kaabi.

The finals, broadcast live on the UAE Pro League’s official Twitch, TikTok, and YouTube channels, attracted substantial viewership online and saw enthusiastic participation from live audiences at Abu Dhabi's Pixel Arena. The vibrant atmosphere was fueled by the spirited support from fans and club representatives.

Al-Kaabi also mentioned the evolving partnership with EA SPORTS FC™️, which has significantly enhanced the tournament's commercial appeal. "Our ongoing collaboration with EA SPORTS FC™️ has progressively increased the tournament's commercial value, turning it into a premier event for eSports fans within the UAE," he added.

The tournament concluded with two days of intense competition starting on April 27th at the Pixel Arena in Abu Dhabi’s Canal Project. The climactic battles involved representatives from fourteen professional clubs, culminating in the final face-off between Shabab Al Ahli and Al Nasr.

As the new champion, Al Swaidi will advance to the qualifying rounds of the 2024 EA SPORTS FC Pro World Championship. He was awarded a cash prize of 15,000 AED, while the runner-up received 10,000 AED and the third-place competitor was given 5,000 AED.

The Coronation ceremony was attended by UAE Pro League board member Saeed Obaid Al Kaabi, UAE Pro League CEO Waleed Al Hosani, representatives of professional clubs, and the media.
