The UAE Pro League has signed an agreement with EA SPORTS™ to organize the eUAE PL Championship, the UAE’s first-ever official qualifying event within the EA SPORTSTM FIFA 21 Global Series “Road to the FIFAe World Cup”, as the winner will represent the UAE Pro League in the EA SPORTSTM FIFA 21 Global Series West Asia Playoffs.
The tournament, which will be played on PlayStation®4 consoles, will feature a total of 16 players who should all be either UAE nationals or residents and above the age of 16. The 14 UAE Pro League clubs will each nominate one representative, while two participants will receive wildcard invitations and will take part in the tournament as representatives of the UAE Pro League.
The wildcard representatives will have to take part in the online public qualifiers held by the UAE Pro League, which will see the registration of up to 1,024 players battling it out on EA SPORTSTM FIFA 21 starting April 13th. All registered contenders will take part in a single-elimination knockout stage, with the two finalists booking their spots in the eUAE PL Championship.
The tournament’s finals will be held on April 24th and 25th. It will see the 16 participants compete in a single-elimination knockout stage, with the best four making it through to the next stage and battling it out in a round-robin format. The top two winners will compete in a best-of-three format to determine the champion. The competition will be streamed on UAE PL official Twitch and YouTube channel, Zawaya Gaming Platform, Divine Entertainment, as well as local rights holders. The tournament will also be streamed on the website of the newly launched AD Gaming. AD Gaming is a collaborative initiative pioneered by twofour54, of which UAE Pro League are a strategic partner.
