A goal from Fabio De Lima and a brace from Tomas Chancalay helped Al Wasl to secure a 3-1 home win over Al Bataeh at Zabeel Stadium in matchweek 15 of the ADNOC Pro League on Sunday.
Just three minutes before the two teams headed to the dressing rooms for the break, Al Wasl had taken the lead when Ali Saleh picked up the ball on the right flank and skipped past Al Bataeh's defender Mohamed Khalfan before sending a brilliant cross to Tomas Chancalay who met it with a clinical finish into the back of the net.
Four minutes before the hour-mark, Lourency Do restored parity for Al Bataeh when he towered above Al Wasl's defenders to thump a brilliant header into the back of the net.
Fabio De Lima put Al Wasl ahead again in the 63rd minute when he converted the penalty with a left-footed shot into the top right corner of the net.
Chancalay grabbed his brace and made it 3-1 for the hosts in the 65th minute when he capitalized Al Bataeh goalkeeper's mistake and kept his composure, before curling the ball into the back of the net.
The victory means Al Wasl sit fourth with 29 points, while Al Bataeh are 11th with 14 points.
