UAE–Qatar Challenge Shield: Matchday Arrangements Finalised for Al Wahda vs Al Duhail Clash

The Organising Committee of the UAE–Qatar Challenge Shield, part of the third edition of the UAE–Qatar Super Cup, has concluded the official technical and coordination meeting ahead of the highly anticipated clash between Al Wahda and Al Duhail.

The match will be held on Friday, 23 January 2026, at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 PM (UAE time).

Al Wahda qualified for the Challenge Shield after finishing third in last season’s ADNOC Pro League, while Al Duhail enter the contest as runners-up of the Ooredoo Stars League.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the organising committee, both clubs, the referees’ department, and all operational and coordination entities.

During the session, team kits were officially confirmed, with Al Wahda set to wear their full maroon kit, while Al Duhail will appear in their full grey kit.

In accordance with Article 11 of the Challenge Shield regulations, it was confirmed that should the match end in a draw after normal time, the winner will be decided directly by a penalty shootout.

The official press conference will take place on Thursday, 22 January, at Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.

Media and guests will be welcomed from 4:00 PM, followed by Al Wahda’s press conference at 4:30 PM, and Al Duhail’s session at 5:00 PM, attended by the head coaches, selected players, and media representatives.

Following the press conference, both teams will hold their final training sessions at Al Nahyan Stadium, with each session lasting one hour. Al Wahda will train at 6:00 PM, followed by Al Duhail at 7:15 PM, with the first 15 minutes of each session open to the fan entry arrangements were also confirmed. Gates 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 have been allocated for Al Wahda fans, while Gate 6 will be designated for Al Duhail fans.

The Premium category (right side) will access the stadium via the rear gate, while the Main Stand will be reserved for the Chairman’s Lounge, VVIP, VIP guests, and hospitality boxes.

In addition, a range of fan entertainment activities will take place in the Fan Zone surrounding Al Nahyan Stadium on matchday, starting from 5:00 PM, offering fans a complete matchday experience.

Ticket sales for the Challenge Shield have been launched via the official UAE Pro League website (www.uaeproleague.ae) and Platinumlis.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the fan zone activities and contribute to an exciting atmosphere in the stands for this marquee UAE–Qatar showdown.
