Ceramica Cleopatra secured third place in the Egyptian Super Cup for Champions after defeating Pyramids 2–1 in the match held on Sunday at Al Nahyan Stadium.
Ahmed Belhadji opened the scoring for Ceramica Cleopatra in the 33rd minute of the first half, converting a penalty after a handball was awarded against Walid El Karti inside the box.
Ceramica almost doubled their lead in the 41st minute when Ahmed Samy’s header back toward goal found Islam Issa, whose shot narrowly missed the post.
Pyramids managed to level the score in the 43rd minute when Marwan Hamdy set up Mostafa Ziko, who fired a powerful strike that hit the crossbar and went in. Although the goal was initially ruled out for offside, VAR confirmed its validity.
At the start of the second half, Belhadji continued his brilliance, scoring his second goal of the match from another penalty in the 49th minute, restoring Ceramica Cleopatra’s lead.
Despite Pyramids’ persistent efforts to find an equalizer, Ceramica’s solid defensive display held firm until the final whistle, sealing a well-deserved victory and third place in the Egyptian Super Cup for Champions.
