Bani Yas opened their 2026-27 ADIB Cup campaign with a 3-1 win over Al Dhafra in Gameweek 1.
Saviour Godwin, Rocky Marciano and Alhassan Koroma scored for Bani Yas, while Dominique Mendy netted Al Dhafra’s only goal.
Bani Yas took the lead in the ninth minute when Godwin headed home a cross from Koroma.
They doubled their advantage in the 43rd minute through Rocky Marciano, who broke through on goal and finished calmly to make it 2-0 before half-time.
Al Dhafra responded after the break and reduced the deficit in the 73rd minute when Mendy converted from the penalty spot.
Bani Yas then sealed the result in the 87th minute as Koroma fired home from inside the penalty area, completing a strong individual performance after also assisting the opening goal.
The win gives Bani Yas a positive start to their ADIB Cup campaign and an early advantage after Gameweek 1.
