Peniel Mlapa netted late to hand Ittihad Kalba a 2-1 win over Ajman on Friday night at Ittihad Kalba Stadium in matchweek 15 of the Arabian Gulf League held under the slogan "Human Fraternity" in celebration of the Human Fraternity Festival.
Few chances were created in the first half of the game which ended in a goalless draw. It wasn't until the 73rd minute when Majed Almherzi opened the scoring for Kalba, thanks to a powerful effort from outside the box.
Kalba's lead didn't last long as Diego Jardel scored the equaliser for Ajman in the 83rd minute.
Ittihad Kalba were handed a penalty deep into injury time and their ever-reliable centre forward Peniel Mlapa took centre-stage in the 99th minute, as he scored from the spot and secured a vital 3 points.
Ittihad Kalba moved to ninth place raising their tally to 22 points, while Ajman remained with 9 points in the 12th place.
