Arabian Gulf Cup playoff second leg: Roundup

Six teams have secured their qualification to the quarter final of the Arabian Gulf Cup and will be joining Sharjah and Al Nasr in the next round of the competition.

 

The five teams who earned wins in the first leg, sealed their qualification in the second leg. Shabab Al Ahli were the only team to overturn their 1-1 draw at home with a win in the second leg.

 

Bani Yas will be hosting Ittihad Kalba in the first leg of the quarters, before playing the second leg away from home. The Sky Blues advanced to the next round with a 3-1 aggregate scoreline over Hatta, as they won 2-0 away from home and drew 1-1 at home. Kalba also had a 2-1 advantage at home, before drawing 1-1 with Al Jazira to advance with a 3-2 aggregate score.

 

Fujairah will be clashing with Al Nasr in the quarterfinal of the competition after eliminating Ajman with a 3-1 aggregate win; they won 1-0 at home and 2-1 away from home. On the other hand, reigning Arabian Gulf Cup champions Al Nasr received a bye into the quarter final.

 

Shabab Al Ahli overturned their 1-1 draw with Al Dhafra at home by winning 3-0 at Al Dhafra Stadium. They set up a quarters clash with Khorfakkan, who eliminated Al Ain with a 4-2 win away from home and a goalless draw at home.

 

Al Wasl defeated Al Wahda home and away (2-0 and 2-1) to meet Arabian Gulf League reigning champions Sharjah in the quarter final of the competition.
