Al Wahda and Shabab Al Ahli shared the spoils at Al Nahyan Stadium after playing out a 1-1 draw in matchweek 16 of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.
Four minutes after the hour-mark, Shabab Al Ahli were awarded a penalty kick after Cartabia was brought down by Lucas Pimenta inside the box. The Italian midfielder stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to give the Dubai-based side the lead.
Twelve minutes before the time, Ala Zhir hit the equalizer for Al Wahda when he timed his run perfectly to head in Matheus Pereira's cross.
The result means that Al Wahda sit third with 31 points, while Shabab Al Ahli are now second with 33 points.
