Ismail Matar scored twice from the spot and Tahnoon AlZaabi netted a late goal to guide Al Wahda to a 3-0 victory over Khorfakkan at Al Nahyan Stadium in matchweek 17 of the Arabian Gulf League.
Despite Matar’s penalty was the difference in the first half, as he converted from the spot in the 23rd minute to hand Al Wahda a 1-0 advantage ahead of the break.
Khorfakkan went in search of the equalizer in the second half. However, it was Al Wahda who found the back of the net, as the veteran forward completed his brace when he netted a second penalty six minutes from time.
Tahnoon AlZaabi then put the win beyond any doubt when he got his name on the scoresheet with a left-footed effort in the second minute of injury time to hand the Clarets a 3-0 win.
Al Wahda collected their seventh win of the season to raise their tally to 27 points in sixth place, and Khorfakkan remained in eleventh place with 15 points.
