Antonio Jose De Carvalho's penalty was the difference at Al Maktoum Stadium as Al Nasr edged out Bani Yas in Matchweek 19 of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.
The game was cagey in the first half as both teams failed to pose a real threat to the goalkeepers ending the first half in a goalless draw.
The hosts finally found the back of the net in the 67th minute when they were awarded a penalty kick due to a handball on Bani Yas's midfielder Fawaz Awana Almesabi, and Portuguese forward Jose De Carvalho, who is known as Tozé, stepped up and stroked the ball into the bottom corner to seal the victory for his side.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) disallowed Abdoulaye Toure's goal in the 82nd minute due to an offside on Abdulla Anwar to keep it 1-0 for Al Nasr.
The win raises Al Nasr's points tally to 17 in 13th place, while Bani Yas are in 10th place with 19 points.
