Al Bataeh came from a 2-3 down to hold a 3-3 draw with Bani Yas in a breathless and pulsating ADNOC Pro League encounter, which took place at Sharjah Stadium on Saturday.
Al Bataeh had taken an early lead when Lourency Do pounce on a glaring error by Bani Yas goalkeeper Fahad Mohamed Aldhanhani to drill the ball into the back of the net.
The Brazilian forward grabbed his brace and cemented his side's lead when he picked up the ball in the midfield and made a nice move toward the penalty area; before calmly chipping the ball over Bani Yas' goalkeeper.
Bani Yas started the second half as a completely different team as Suhail Alnoobi reduced the deficit six minutes after the break with a clinical finish from a close range.
Three minutes after the hour-mark, Nicolas Gimenez hit the equalizer for the visitors from a penalty spot after stepping up and sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
The Argentinian midfielder completed the comeback through another penalty kick as he stroked the ball into the bottom corner of the net to put Bani Yas ahead.
Seven minutes before the time, Al Bataeh were awarded a penalty kick, and Joao Pedro wasted no time slapping the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
The result means that Al Bataeh sit 11th with 15 points, while Bani Yas are ninth with 19 points.
