Tomas Chancalay produced a masterclass to help third-place Al Wasl beat Dibba 1-0 on Saturday and cut the gap on league leaders Sharjah to just two points. The Argentinean winger’s goal was the difference for Al Wasl in their 1-0 away win at Dibba Stadium in matchweek 16 of the ADNOC Pro League.
In the 32nd minute, the visitors took a deserved early lead when Fabio De Lima floated a brilliant cross into the box to Tomas Chancalay who met it with a powerful header into the back of the net, to make it 1-0.
It has been a cagey second half with few chances as the two clubs failed to pose a real threat to the goalkeepers.
The win saw Al Wasl jump up to third place with 32 points, while Dibba remain bottom with just 4 points and become the first relegated team from the ADNOC Pro League next season
