Al Wahda secured a valuable 1-0 away win over Al Dhafra in the ADNOC Pro League, with Facundo Daniel scoring the decisive goal 10 minutes from time at Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium on Sunday in the final match of Matchweek 4.
The victory lifted Al Wahda to six points, while Al Dhafra remained without a point after suffering their fourth consecutive defeat of the season.
Al Wahda were the dominant side in the first half, enjoying more than 66% possession, while Al Dhafra focused on containing the visitors and recorded 33.3% possession.
Despite their control, Al Wahda struggled to create clear-cut opportunities. They registered six attempts in the opening half, with only one on target, as the two sides went into the break goalless.
Al Dhafra showed greater attacking intent at the start of the second half, but Al Wahda gradually regained control and increased their threat as the match progressed.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 81st minute when Facundo Daniel found the net to give Al Wahda the lead and ultimately secure all three points.
Daniel’s winner also marked a significant milestone for Al Wahda, becoming the club’s 800th goal in the professional era, excluding the 2019-20 season.
