UAE Pro League Board Member Jawaher Abdulaziz Al Suwaidi said that this year’s Emirati Women’s Day, themed “Celebrating 50 Years, Hand in Hand”, honors the 50th anniversary of the General Women’s Union, founded in 1975 to empower women and strengthen their role in all sectors.
She noted that this reflects a journey shaped by the vision of the UAE's Founding Father the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” who laid the foundations for women’s advancement in the UAE.
Al Suwaidi praised Emirati women’s achievements, particularly in sports, where they have excelled on local, regional, and international stages, winning titles, raising the UAE flag, and enhancing the nation’s reputation worldwide.
"These successes are the product of true partnership between leadership, institutions, and society,” she said.
“Together, we will continue this journey into another 50 years of leadership and excellence,” Al Suwaidi concluded.
