Al Ain Defeat Al Nasr 2-0 to Cap Off ADNOC Pro League Season in Style

Al Ain closed out their 2024/2025 ADNOC Pro League campaign on a high note with a composed and clinical 2-0 victory over Al Nasr on Friday in matchweek 26.

The result at Al Maktoum Stadium secured three crucial points for the away side, lifting them to fifth place in the final league standings with 44 points. Al Nasr, meanwhile, slipped to sixth, finishing the season on 38 points.

The decisive moments came early in the match, as Al Ain asserted their dominance with two quickfire goals in the opening 20 minutes.

Their aggressive pressing and fluid attacking play overwhelmed Al Nasr’s backline during a lively start to the first half.

Togolese striker Laba Kodjo opened the scoring in the 15th minute from the penalty spot.

The experienced forward confidently stepped up and calmly slotted the ball past the diving goalkeeper, sending him the wrong way to give Al Ain the lead.

Barely three minutes later, Al Ain doubled their advantage with a well-worked team move.

Mohamed Abbas, exploiting space down the left wing, delivered a precise low cross across the face of goal.

Paraguayan midfielder Alejandro ‘Kaku’ Romero was perfectly positioned to meet it, nodding the ball into an empty net and capping off a swift and elegant counterattack.

Despite some second-half resistance from Al Nasr, Al Ain’s disciplined defense and well-organized midfield ensured the scoreline remained unchanged.

The victory reflects a strong finish to the season for Al Ain, who showed improvement in their attacking cohesion and defensive solidity.
