Al Wahda snatched a crucial 2–1 victory over Uzbekistan’s Nasaf in the dying seconds of their AFC Champions League Elite group stage clash on Monday evening, moving to the top of the West Group standings.
The win took Al Wahda to 10 points and marked their second consecutive victory in the competition, following their 3–1 win over Al Duhail in the previous round.
Nasaf took the lead late in the first half when Sardorbek Bakhromov scored in the 42nd minute. However, Al Wahda came back strongly after the break, showing determination and attacking intent.
Favour Inyeka Ogbu equalized for the visitors in the 52nd minute with a well-placed header from a Dušan Tadić cross.
Then, just moments before full time, Caio Canedo sealed a dramatic comeback with a superb header inside the box in the 89th minute, earning Al Wahda their third win of the campaign.
