Al Wasl extended their perfect start in the AFC Champions League 2 with a crucial 1-0 win over Bahrain’s Al Muharraq on Wednesday night in gameweek 3 of Group A.
The decisive moment came in the 88th minute when Adama Diallo struck late to secure all three points for the Dubai side, sealing their third straight win in the competition.
With the victory, Al Wasl remain top of Group A with nine points from three matches, three points clear of second-placed Al Muharraq.
Esteghlal of Iran sit third on three points, while Al Wehdat of Jordan remain bottom of the table without a point.
The two sides will meet again on November 5, when Al Wasl host Al Muharraq at Zabeel Stadium in Dubai for the return fixture of the group stage.
