Shabab Al Ahli Go Top with Five-Star Win Over Kalba

Shabab Al Ahli moved to the top of the ADNOC Pro League standings with an impressive 5–1 victory over Kalba at Rashid Stadium in Matchweek 19.

 

Shabab Al Ahli began the match with strong attacking pressure and thought they had taken an early lead when Yuri Cesar found the net in the 16th minute, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

 

The breakthrough eventually came in the 36th minute when Mohammed Almansoori capitalised on a mistake by Kalba’s goalkeeper to put the hosts ahead.

 

Early in the second half, Kauan Santos Silva doubled Shabab Al Ahli’s advantage in the 46th minute after a skilful move past the Kalba defence.

 

The visitors’ task became even more difficult in the 51st minute when Seko Baba was shown a red card following a strong challenge on Bala.

 

Shabab Al Ahli quickly took control of the match afterwards. Yuri Cesar scored the third goal in the 55th minute before adding his second and the team’s fourth just three minutes later, finishing a well-worked move assisted by Federico Cartabia.

 

Sardar Azmoun completed the scoring for Shabab Al Ahli in the 77th minute with the fifth goal. Kalba managed to pull one back two minutes later when Venezuelan forward Renne Alezones scored a spectacular bicycle kick in the 79th minute, producing one of the highlights of the match.

 

Kalba’s situation became more difficult when Seko Baba was sent off in the 51st minute, allowing Shabab Al Ahli to extend their dominance. Yuri Cesar added the third goal in the 55th minute before scoring again three minutes later to make it 4–0, assisted by Federico Cartabia.

 

Sardar Azmoun completed the five-goal performance in the 77th minute. Kalba managed a consolation goal two minutes later when Renne Alezones scored with an impressive bicycle kick.

 

The win lifts Shabab Al Ahli to 46 points at the top of the table, two points ahead of Al Ain, who still have a game in hand, while Kalba remain on 20 points in ninth place.
