Marwan Fahad’s brilliant first-half chip proved decisive as Al Bataeh claimed a valuable 1-0 victory over Ajman in matchweek 19 of the ADNOC Pro League at Khalid Bin Mohammed Stadium.
Al Bataeh made a strong start and found the breakthrough after just nine minutes. Marwan Fahad showed excellent composure, lifting a clever chip over the onrushing goalkeeper Ali Al Hosani to give the hosts an early lead.
Ajman thought they had found the equalizer late in the first half when Waleed Azaro finished inside the box, but the goal was ruled out for offside in the 41st minute.
The visitors pushed forward with greater urgency after the break in search of a way back into the match, but Al Bataeh remained disciplined at the back.
Azaro once again had the ball in the net in the 86th minute, only for the offside flag to deny him for the second time in the match.
Al Bataeh held firm during the closing stages to secure a historic result, recording their first-ever win over Ajman in the ADNOC Pro League.
The victory lifts Al Bataeh to 13th place with 16 points, while Ajman remain seventh on 23 points after Matchweek 19.
