Al Wahda and Al Bataeh shared the points after an entertaining 2–2 draw at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, in the opening fixture of Matchweek 15 of the ADNOC Pro League.
The result lifted Al Wahda to 30 points in third place, while Al Bataeh moved up to 12 points in 12th position.
Al Bataeh took the lead in the 14th minute through Álvaro de Oliveira, who returned to the scoresheet after a five-match drought with his third league goal against Al Wahda.
The hosts responded with growing control and were rewarded just before the break when Omar Khrbin struck in the 43rd minute, continuing his strong record against Al Bataeh.
Al Wahda carried their momentum into the second half and went ahead in the 65th minute when Abdulla Hamad finished confidently to make it 2–1, despite the earlier injury-enforced substitution of Brahima Diarra.
Al Bataeh refused to back down and found a deserved equaliser in the 77th minute, as Mohammad Juma Eid finished off a determined move created by Omar Keita, ensuring the match ended level in a four-goal contest.
