Al Bataeh and Al Jazira played out a 1–1 draw at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium in Matchweek 14 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Al Bataeh made a fast start, taking the lead in the third minute through Azizjon Ganiev, whose low and powerful strike found the net to register the club’s fastest goal in the Pro League, scored after just 137 seconds.
Al Jazira attempted to respond before the break, but a penalty appeal was overturned following a VAR review in the 41st minute, allowing Al Bataeh to maintain their advantage at half-time.
After the restart, Al Jazira increased their attacking pressure and were rewarded in the 61st minute when Simon Banza headed home the equaliser. The goal marked Banza’s second in the ADNOC Pro League, with both goals coming against Al Bataeh.
Both sides made attacking substitutions late in the match in search of a winner.
Al Bataeh’s goalkeeper produced a crucial save in the 83rd minute, while Al Jazira came close a minute later when Nabil Fekir’s corner struck the crossbar, with Banza unable to convert the rebound.
The draw sees Al Bataeh move to 11 points in 12th place, while Al Jazira reach 22 points to remain fifth in the league standings.
