Shabab Al Ahli climbed to second place in the ADNOC Pro League standings after securing a 3–1 win over Al Wasl on Sunday evening at Rashid Stadium, in the rescheduled Matchweek 9 fixture.
Shabab Al Ahli completed an impressive comeback after falling behind just before half-time, with Yuri César scoring twice and Mohammed Al Mansoori adding a late third goal.
Al Wasl had taken the lead through Ali Saleh from the penalty spot in the 44th minute.
The hosts responded strongly after the break, as Yuri César equalised in the 49th minute following a well-worked attacking move.
He then struck again in the 68th minute, reacting quickest to a rebound to give Shabab Al Ahli the lead. Mohammed Al Mansoori sealed the win in the 88th minute with a powerful finish to cap a dominant second-half display.
The result lifts Shabab Al Ahli to 26 points in second place, while Al Wasl remain fourth on 22 points.
