Al Ain came from behind to defeat Al Dhafra 2–1 at Hamdan bin Zayed Stadium, extending their lead at the top of the ADNOC Pro League table in the final match of Matchweek 12.
Al Dhafra took the lead in the 16th minute when Jobson Santos converted a penalty with a confident Panenka finish. Al Ain responded well and pushed forward before the break, but a goal by Kodjo Laba was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.
The visitors continued their pressure after half-time and were rewarded in the 60th minute when Laba found the net to bring Al Ain level. With momentum firmly on their side, Al Ain kept pressing and eventually completed the comeback in the 82nd minute, as Nassim Chadli reacted quickly to a rebound off the post to score the winning goal.
The victory moves Al Ain to 30 points at the top of the standings, while Al Dhafra remain eighth on 15 points.
