Shabab Al Ahli climbed to third place in the ADNOC Pro League after recording a convincing 4–0 away victory over Al Bataeh on Wednesday at Khaled bin Mohammed Stadium, in Matchweek 12.
Shabab Al Ahli dominated the contest from the outset and opened the scoring in the seventh minute through Mateus Lima, who reacted quickly to convert a close-range opportunity.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 27th minute when Mateus Lima capitalised on a defensive error to score his second of the night.
Sustained pressure paid off again before the break, as Federico Cartabia added the third goal in the 38th minute. Shabab Al Ahli maintained their control in the second half, and Yahya Al Ghassani completed the scoring with the fourth goal in the 57th minute.
The result lifts Shabab Al Ahli to 23 points and into third place in the standings, while Al Bataeh remain bottom of the table on six points.
