Al Bataeh claimed their second win of the ADNOC Pro League season with a 3–1 victory over Kalba on Saturday in Matchweek 8, in a game played at Kalba Stadium.
The match began with early pressure from Al Bataeh, as Marwan Fahad missed a clear one-on-one chance in the second minute, firing into the side netting.
In the 17th minute, following a VAR review, Kalba’s Mohammed Mahdi Mohib received a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Fahad.
Kalba nearly opened the scoring in the 28th minute, but Al Bataeh’s goalkeeper produced a superb save to deny a powerful long-range strike from Waleed Rashid.
Al Bataeh broke the deadlock in the 41st minute when Anatole Bertrand headed in a precise cross from Daniel Bessa, marking his first ADNOC Pro League goal after an 11-match drought.
Just three minutes into the second half, Saud Khalil doubled the lead with a strong low strike. Kalba responded quickly in the 52nd minute, as Oumar Keita headed the ball into his own net to narrow the score.
Ivonei Junior sealed the win deep into stoppage time with a composed finish inside the box, confirming Al Bataeh’s valuable three points.
With this result, Al Bataeh move to 6 points in 12th place, while Kalba remain on 11 points in 8th place.
