Al Ain reaffirmed their position at the top of the ADNOC Pro League with a convincing 3–0 win over Ajman at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium in Matchweek 7.
Matías Palacios opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a precise finish inside the box after a quick attacking move. Al Ain continued to apply pressure, with Soufian Rahimi
going close from a free kick that whistled past the post in the 22nd minute.
Laba Kodjo doubled the lead in the 60th minute from the penalty spot after Kaku was fouled inside the area. The goal was a special one for Laba, who became the all-time top scorer in ADNOC Pro League matches between the two sides with eight goals.
Alejandro Romero put the result beyond doubt in the 81st minute, finishing confidently from inside the box to complete a dominant display. The victory lifted Al Ain to 19 points, restoring their position at the top of the table, while Ajman remained eighth with nine points.
The result also marked Al Ain’s best start to a professional league season, matching their 2016–17 record with six wins and one draw from their opening seven matches.
