Al Wahda Seek to Maintain Pressure at the Top as Al Nasr Chase Revival

Al Wahda and Al Nasr are set to kick off Matchweek 7 of the ADNOC Pro League in a highly anticipated clash at Al Nahyan Stadium on Thursday, October 30.

The two sides enter the match with contrasting goals but the same ambition, securing all three points. Al Wahda, currently second with 14 points, are looking to maintain pressure on leaders Al Ain and continue their title challenge.

Meanwhile, Al Nasr, ninth with eight points, aim to correct their course and climb back into the upper half of the table after an inconsistent run of form.

History favours Al Wahda, who have dominated this fixture in the professional era. In 32 meetings, they have claimed 17 victories compared to Al Nasr’s four, with 11 matches ending in draws.

The encounters have produced 86 goals in total, 55 for Al Wahda and 31 for Al Nasr. Sebastián Tagliabué remains the top scorer in this rivalry with 13 goals.

Al Wahda also boast a strong recent record, going unbeaten in their last 10 league matches against Al Nasr, winning four and drawing six.

They are also undefeated in their last 18 ADNOC Pro League games overall, with 11 wins and seven draws — their second-longest run in league history, just behind a 20-match streak set in 2014.

Al Nasr, on the other hand, have struggled to maintain their early-season form, collecting only two points from their last four matches after earning six from the first two.

The team has yet to score more than once in a single league game this season. In contrast, Al Wahda have been the most prolific side in 2025, finding the net 44 times across all league matches played this year.

Key players are also set to play a major role. Omar Khribin has been a constant threat to Al Nasr, contributing to 10 goals in his last 10 league appearances against them, with six goals and four assists.

He has also been involved in all of Al Wahda’s last four goals against Al Nasr, scoring three and setting up one. Al Nasr striker Ali Mabkhout has 12 goals against Al Wahda in the Pro League, the second-highest tally against them after Al Wasl’s Fabio Lima, who has 16.
