Ajman earned a valuable 1-0 win over Sharjah in Matchweek four of the ADNOC Pro League, with Waleed Azaro scoring the decisive goal in the 70th minute at Sharjah Stadium.
The win lifted Ajman to six points and eighth place in the standings, while Sharjah dropped to tenth with four points.
Ajman began the match with confidence, edging possession at 51 percent to Sharjah’s 48.
The visitors nearly went ahead in the 11th minute when defender Maro Katinic's misplaced back pass forced goalkeeper Darwish Mohammad into a desperate save from Junior Flemmings.
The second half opened with attacking changes from both teams, and Flemmings squandered a clear chance in the 64th minute when he shot wide from close range.
Ajman finally found the breakthrough when Dino Hotić released Azaro with a superb through ball.
The Moroccan striker raced clear and slotted past the goalkeeper to secure all three points for Ajman.
