The UAE Pro League has confirmed the winners of its ‘The Best’ monthly awards for August, recognising standout performance across the Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and Best Coach categories.
In the Best Player category, Al Ain striker Laba Kodjo came out on top ahead of Al Nasr’s Zayed Sultan, Khorfakkan’s Tarik Tissoudali, Al Wasl’s Pedro Malheiro, and Sharjah’s Firas Ben Al Arbi.
The Togolese forward earned the accolade after scoring three goals, providing one assist, completing 11 accurate passes and recording five shots on target across Al Ain’s opening two fixtures.
Al Wahda’s Zayed Al Hamadi was named Best Goalkeeper, beating competition from Shabab Al Ahli’s Hamad Al Meqbaali and Al Nasr’s Ahmed Shambih.
Ahmed secured back-to-back clean sheets and made five saves during Al Wahda’s first two ADNOC Pro League matches.
The Best Coach award went to Al Ain manager Vladimir Ivic, who edged out Al Nasr’s Slaviša Jokanović and Al Wahda’s José Morais.
Ivic guided his side to the top of the ADNOC Pro League standings, boasting a five-goal difference after scoring five and conceding three, while his team also registered a 59.3% possession rate and 87.05% passing accuracy.
