Shabab Al Ahli continued their dominant form with a 3-2 win over Dibba Al Hisn on Tuesday night at Rashid Stadium in Matchweek 25 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Although the title was already secured, Shabab Al Ahli showed no signs of slowing down, reaching 60 points at the top of the table.
Dibba Al Hisn remain stuck at 16 points in 13th place after their 17th defeat of the season.
Bogdan Planić gave the hosts a dream start, heading in the opener in the 5th minute from a corner by Harib Abdalla.
Moments later, Shabab Al Ahli missed a chance to double their lead when Sardar Azmoun’s penalty was saved.
Dibba responded with determination, and in the 32nd minute, H. Jouini equalized after a smart assist from Oussama Haddadi.
Shabab Al Ahli were then awarded a second penalty, but missed again, striking the post, taking their season total to seven missed penalties, the most in the league.
In the second half, Damián García fired in from distance to restore Shabab Al Ahli’s lead in the 52nd minute.
But Dibba hit back again as Pierre Kunde made it 2-2 in the 65th, his goal alongside Jouini’s accounting for half of the team's total goals this season.
The winner came in the 71st minute, when Sultan Adil scored his first ADNOC Pro League goal in over 800 days, sealing the win for Shabab Al Ahli, who maintain strong momentum heading into the season’s final stretch.
