Kalba earned a hard-fought 3-2 away win over Ajman on Tuesday night at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium, in Matchweek 24 of the ADNOC Pro League.
The visitors started aggressively and were rewarded almost immediately. Mehdi Ghayedi opened the scoring in the 3rd minute with a brilliant solo effort, cutting inside the defense before finding the net. Kalba doubled their lead in the 17th minute through Salim Rashid, who finished off a clever assist from Ghayedi.
The Iranian star added his second and Kalba’s third just before halftime, striking a rocket into the top corner in the 42nd minute to give his side a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
Ajman responded strongly in the second half. Milos Kosanovic converted two penalties in the 59th and 67th minutes to pull the hosts within one goal. Despite their pressure, Ajman couldn’t find an equalizer, and Kalba held on for the win.
With the result, Kalba move to 31 points in 9th place, while Ajman remain 10th on 27 points.
