In a thrilling twist to the ADNOC Pro League season, Al Wasl handed Shabab Al Ahli their first defeat of the campaign, denying them the chance to equal the longest unbeaten run since the start of a season—Sharjah's 23-match streak from 2018–2019.
Despite the setback, Shabab Al Ahli still clinched the league title, thanks to Al Wahda’s emphatic 3-0 victory over their closest rivals, Sharjah.
With this triumph, Shabab Al Ahli matched Al Ain’s record of five league titles in the professional era, as the remaining six trophies have been split among three other clubs.
For the first time in ADNOC Pro League history, the title was decided at Al Nahyan Stadium, and for only the second time ever by a Al Wahda's 3-0 win over Sharjah—the first being in 2010, but that time in favor of Al Wahda.
Matchweek 23 had its own share of drama. Home teams remained unbeaten until the final match, where Al Orooba secured their first away win of the season, snapping a 12-match losing streak on the road—11 this season and one from the 2021–2022 campaign.
Only two of matchweek 23 goals came from Emirati players—Fabio Lima and Ahmed Jashak—while just three goals were scored via headers.
Statistically, Al Nasr led in possession with 59%, while Khorfakkan dominated in shot attempts (21) and shots on target (9).
Remarkably, Sharjah were the only team not to register a single shot on target.
Al Jazira excelled in dribbling with 12 successful dribbles while Bani Yas managed just one.
Individually, Nassim Chadli and Viv Otabor led the round with six successful dribbles each.
Laba Kodjo and Mehdi Ghayedi were the most active shooters, both with six attempts. However, only Ghayedi found the back of the net.
Despite conceding three goals against Al Nasr, goalkeeper Ahmed Mahmoud recorded the most saves in the round with six crucial stops.
