Al Wahda and Shabab Al Ahli shared a thrilling 2-2 draw on Sunday at Al Nahyan Stadium, in a rescheduled Matchweek 16 clash of the ADNOC Pro League.
Kevin Andres Agudelo opened the scoring early for Al Wahda in the 11th minute after a smart assist from Facundo.
Shabab Al Ahli had a chance to level soon after, but Cartabia’s penalty was superbly saved by Mohammed Al Shamsi.
Al Wahda doubled their lead in the 40th minute when Sasa Ivkovic headed home their second goal.
Just before halftime, Saeid Ezatolahi gave Shabab Al Ahli a lifeline, heading in from close range to make it 2-1.
Shabab Al Ahli kept the pressure high after the break, and Sardar Khalil Azmoun brought them level with a powerful finish in the 54th minute.
Both teams pushed hard for a winner, with Ahmad Noorollah coming closest for Al Wahda, but Almeqbaali's save kept Shabab Al Ahli in the game.
The match ended 2-2, a result that lifts Al Wahda to third place with 38 points, while Shabab Al Ahli strengthen their lead at the top, reaching 56 points, 11 ahead of Sharjah.
