Away Wins Steal the Show in Matchweek 22 of ADNOC Pro League

Matchweek 22 of the ADNOC Pro League ended with Shabab Al Ahli holding on to the top spot, while Sharjah stayed close behind in second.

Both sides were the only clubs to win at home this week. The rest of the matchweek matches saw away teams take control, as Al Ain, Al Nasr, Al Wasl, and Kalba all earned important wins on the road.

Al Wasl, Al Nasr, and Kalba made notable moves up the table. Meanwhile, Al Jazira, Bani Yas, and Dibba Al Hisn dropped points at home, shifting the mid-table and relegation picture.

Substitutes had a major impact this week, contributing five goals. Sharjah’s Adel Taarabt and Majed Hassan each scored their first goal for the club.

Al Nasr registered the highest possession in the matchweek with 70% against Dibba Al Hisn. Shabab Al Ahli were the most aggressive side, recording 24 shots and scoring four goals.

Two standout performers, Mehdi Ghayedi for Kalba and Mohamed Awad for Al Ain, each scored twice.

But the top performer of the week was Firas Ben Larbi, who assisted all four of Sharjah’s goals, becoming just the second player in league history to register four assists in a single match.

Caio Canedo also made headlines, scoring after coming off the bench and becoming only the seventh player in Pro League history to reach 100 career goals.
