Sharjah closed the gap on leaders Shabab Al Ahli to eight points after thrashing Ajman 4-0 on Tuesday in matchweek 22 of the ADNOC Pro League.
The hosts scored two goals in each half to secure the three points at home.
Sharjah needed 39 minutes to go ahead when Shaheen Abdalla timed his run perfectly to head in Mohamed Ben Alarbi's cross.
Ben Alarbi was the architect again as he picked up the ball and cut inside the penalty area, before rounding it to January's new singing Adel Taarabt, who nodded the ball into the bottom corner, cementing Sharjah's lead in the 44th minute.
Luan Pereira's header gave Sharjah the third goal two minutes after the hour-mark, before Majed Hassan scored the fourth in the 77th minute.
Majed received the ball outside the box, before cutting inside and skipping past two defenders to steer the ball into the bottom corner.
The result means that Sharjah sit second with 44 points, while Ajman are ninth with 27 points.
