Khorfakkan, Al Wasl Move up in Standings ... Leaders Shabab Al Ahli Stumbles

Al Wasl and Khorfakkan benefited from Matchweek 20 of the ADNOC Pro League, with each team moving up one spot in the standings, in a round that saw four teams failing to score. A total of 15 goals were scored in this matchweek.

Al Wasl achieved a historic 5-0 victory over Al Jazira on their home turf, the biggest win in the history of the two teams’ meetings in the ADNOC Pro League.

Al Wasl also continued its dominance with a second consecutive win at Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium, following last season’s 4-2 triumph.

Khorfakkan also returned with a win from Dibba Al Hisn’s Stadium, but more importantly, they set a historic milestone by securing nine victories in a single ADNOC Pro League season for the first time.

This matchweek saw the return of headed goals, with four after being absent last week.

There were also three goals scored from outside the penalty area, equal to the total from the previous three rounds combined.

No red cards were shown in this round, and it was the second-lowest matchweek in terms of yellow cards (19), just behind Matchweek 2, which had 17.

Kalba had the highest possession with 60%, Al Wasl had the most shots with 22, and Dibba Al Hisn succeeded in the most dribbles with 7.

The sixth hat-trick of the season was scored during matchweek 20 by Joao Pedro, who netted his first-ever hat-trick in his 101st league match, and also provided an assist.

He joined Laba Kodjo Laba (3 hat-tricks) and Omar Khribin (2 hat-tricks) this season.

Meanwhile, Rashid Abdulla's saves were key in securing Al Orooba’s second win of the season.
