Al Orooba produced a stunning comeback to defeat Kalba 2-1 on Saturday at Dibba Stadium in Matchweek 20 of the ADNOC Pro League.
The result marked only Al Orooba’s second win of the season, as they rallied from a goal down to claim all three points in front of their home fans.
Kalba took the lead in the 31st minute when Abdul Sallam Mohamed rose highest and guided a perfectly placed header into the net.
The visitors seemed in control, but Al Orooba responded quickly.
Just five minutes later, Mohamed Aljneibi capitalized on a major defensive error and calmly slotted home the equalizer, swinging the momentum back in favor of the hosts.
The match remained level going into halftime, but Al Orooba’s efforts were rewarded in the 74th minute when Sinisa Jolacic scored with a powerful header — notably, Al Orooba’s first headed goal in the ADNOC Pro League this season.
Despite Kalba’s late attempts to recover, the home side held firm and managed the game effectively until the final whistle.
The result lifts Al Orooba to 6 points, though they remain at the bottom of the table. Kalba, meanwhile, stay on 22 points in 11th place.
