Goals from Renan Victor Da Silva and Yuri Cesar secured a 2-0 win for Shabab Al Ahli over Bani Yas in matchweek 18 of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.
This win helped the Dubai-based side maintain a seven-point lead at the top of the table.
The result left Shabab Al Ahli topping the ADNOC Pro League's table with 47 points, while Bani Yas sat 11th with 19 points .
Shabab Al Ahli should have opened the scoring after eleven minutes as Federico Cartabia's curling effort was parried away by goalkeeper Fahad Aldhanhani.
Renan Da Silva put Shabab Al Ahli in front in the 26th minute after towering above Bani Yas' defenders to head in Cartabia's pinpoint cross.
Azmoum missed a penalty spot a minute before the break, as Aldhanhani made a brilliant save to Azmoum's strike.
Two minutes before the break, Azmoum cemented his side's lead and sealed the victory after he nudged the ball toward a hovering Yuri Cesar on the edge of the penalty area, as he cut inside the box and rifled a shot into the top corner.
