Sharjah kept alive their faint hopes of winning the ADNOC Pro League title with a 1-0 win over Al Orooba on Friday.
Substitute Caio Lucas's 77th-minute goal was the difference in Sharjah's 1-0 win at Dibba Stadium.
The result reduced the gap between second-place Sharjah and leaders Shabab Al Ahli to four points. However, the Dubai-based side will play Bani Yas at 20:15, while Al Orooba will remain bottom with three points.
Tyrone Conraad should have opened the scoring in the 34th minute. The lively Ben Alarbi found him unmarked inside the box, but the Dutchman's shot bounced over Rashid Suhail's goal.
Sustitute Caio Lucas found the breakthrough and scored the only goal of the game after 77 minutes when he timed his run perfectly to head in Khaled Aldhanhani's cross.
