Al Wahda climbed into the ADNOC Pro League’s top four with a big 3-0 win over Bani Yas in Matchweek 17 on Sunday night at Bani Yas Stadium.
The win boosts Al Wahda to 28 points, securing fourth place, while Bani Yas remain in 11th with 19 points.
The visitors came close to an early breakthrough in the 11th minute when Brahima Diarra’s thunderous shot crashed against the crossbar.
Bani Yas had their best chance to stay level in the 30th minute, but goalkeeper Aldhanhani made a crucial save to deny Ahmad Noorollah in a one-on-one situation.
Al Wahda’s persistence paid off in the 37th minute when Facundo Daniel opened the scoring with a perfectly timed header.
Just four minutes later, Kevin Andrés Agudelo doubled the lead with a composed finish in the 41st minute, putting Al Wahda in full control before halftime.
The second half saw Al Wahda dictate the tempo, and in the 72nd minute, Agudelo struck again, securing his second goal of the match and sealing a big 3-0 win.
Despite Bani Yas’ attempts to respond, Al Wahda comfortably managed the game until the final whistle, claiming three vital points.
