Caio Lucas' first-half goal was the difference in Sharjah's 1-0 win over Al Wasl at Zabeel Stadium on Wednesday in matchweek 13 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Caio Lucas fired Sharjah in front after 16 minutes.
Guilherme Sucigan's attempt was saved by goalkeeper Khaled Alsenaani, and the ball fell to the unmarked Lucas, who nodded the rebound in.
Al Wasl had to play with ten players from the 62nd minute after Soufiane Bouftini was shown a red card.
Lucas should have cemented his side's lead in the 71st minute when he picked up the ball inside the box, beat two defenders, and unleashed a left-footed strike, but Alsenaani parried it away.
Al Wasl tried to pick up at least a point, but their players seemed to forget their scoring boots at home.
The result means that Sharjah are now the top team in the ADNCO Pro League, with 24 points, while Al Wasl are seventh, with 17 points.
