Al Ain secured an important 4-1 win over Al Nasr in a thrilling clash on Tuesday evening at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, as part of Matchweek 13 in the ADNOC Pro League.
The result means Al Ain climb to fourth place with 22 points, while Al Nasr dropped to fifth, also with 22 points but trailing on goal difference.
The game started with Al Ain asserting their attacking intent, pushing forward with purpose.
Alejandro Romero (Kaku) opened the scoring in the 12th minute, capitalizing on a precise pass from Felipe Salomoni, and the former made no mistake, firing a clinical left-footed shot into the net.
Al Ain continued to press and doubled their advantage in the 24th minute.
Soufian Rahimi received a pinpoint pass from Yahya Nader and finished with composure, adding to the pressure on Al Nasr.
Despite attempts to respond, Al Nasr found it difficult to penetrate Al Ain’s resolute defense, leaving them 2-0 down at halftime.
The second half saw Al Nasr attempting to regroup, showing improvement in their offensive efforts.
However, Al Ain remained in control and extended their lead in the 72nd minute when Mohamed Awad found the back of the net after a brilliant assist from Rahimi.
Just four minutes later, Rahimi scored his second of the match, delivering a stunning strike to secure Al Ain’s fourth goal of the night.
Al Nasr managed a consolation goal in the 87th minute when substitute Nasser Ahmed Al Naaimi converted a well-timed pass from Ali Mabkhout, denying Al Ain a clean sheet.
However, it was too late to mount a meaningful comeback, and the final whistle confirmed Al Ain’s big win.
