Khorfakkan delivered a stunning performance to secure a thrilling 5-2 win over Bani Yas in a dramatic Matchweek 11 clash of the ADNOC Pro League at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qassimi Stadium.
The match sowed dramatic twists, with Khorfakkan overturning a halftime deficit to secure a big victory.
The win rises Khorfakkan to 14 points, placing them temporarily in eighth, while Bani Yas remain in 11th with just 8 points.
The game began with Khorfakkan taking the lead in the 13th minute through Cheickna Doumbia, who turned a precise cross from Mattheus De Andrade into a clinical goal.
Bani Yas responded with two quick goals in three minutes, as Saile Samuel Souza’s long-range rocket in the 28th minute was followed by Arnaud Lusamba’s close-range finish in the 31st minute.
With Bani Yas leading 2-1 at halftime, the momentum seemed firmly in their favor.
However, Khorfakkan emerged stronger in the second half.
Doumbia scored again in the 59th minute to level the score, setting the stage for an inspired comeback.
Substitute Hamdan Humaid Hasan made an immediate impact, heading in a brilliant goal in the 62nd minute to restore Khorfakkan’s lead.
Hasan, the fastest substitute scorer in the ADNOC Pro League this season, added another header in the 84th minute.
Oumar Keita sealed the win in the 88th minute with a composed finish, completing the five-star performance.
