The Senior Citizens Football Championship concluded at Al Maryah Active in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Organized as part of the Community Partnership Agreement between the UAE Pro League, Mubadala Investment Company, the Authority of Social Contributions "Ma'an", and the Family Development Foundation ( FDF), the project brought together senior citizens to promote health, fitness, and community engagement.
The two-day tournament featured eight teams, each consisting of 10 players aged 60 and above.
The event celebrated the vitality and contributions of senior citizens to UAE society, encouraging active and healthy lifestyles while addressing health challenges.
The top three teams were honored in a closing ceremony attended by Abdulla Nasser Al Jneibi, Chairman of the UAE Pro League, Homaid Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO and Chief Corporate & Human Capital Officer in Mubadala Investment Company and Wafa Al Ali, Director of the Family Development Department at the Family Development Foundation.
This initiative is part of a larger collaboration established in October 2024, when Mubadala became the official partner of the UAE Pro League for the 2024-2025 season.
The partnership includes several community-focused programs designed to improve well-being and promote inclusivity across different demographics.
The Senior Citizens Football Championship highlights the positive impact of sports on quality of life and emphasizes the importance of community support for senior citizens.
